"...at least he is getting the treatement he deserves and Parliament is showing it has some backbone".".... as usual Warmwell has something to lift the spirits. What extraordinary scenes we are witnessing at Westminster - as the Lords fight back against Blair - it is remarkable. Apparently they were back in the Lords at 5am this morning - and just about to send the bill back again now. Do you think they have had enough of Blair manipulating the system. I can't help thinking that the Goldsmith disclosures has fuelled the conviction that Blair - and his style of Government - have undermined democracy and parliamentary procedure - and they have all had enough. Hence the vigour and rigour and the cross party attack.
And now we hear he was in the House - but didn't want to sit in the Chamber to hear the debate. Even if he doesn't actually go - at least he is getting the treatement he deserves and Parliament is showing it has some backbone.
I think once he has been deposed the reluctance to investigate the costs of 2001 properly might also be lifted."
