The first link is to a  very interesting article on the development of the virus and the earlier flu like illness in the La Gloria area, which was apparently linked to the pig units - government action to spray the flies which fed on the manure lagoons.
In the article it refers to the following paper, and quotes from it - some very useful informaation including the ability of flies to spread the disease etc.  The pdf link takes a little time to work.
