July 22 extract:

.....the farm noted on the Maff website yesterday at Torpenhow was a relation of a friend at work. the only farm left for miles some 90 sheep were tested and found to be anti-body pos. in 70. Their cattle, believed to be sharing the same premises, showed no adverse signs! This means their sheep were infected weeks ago and the cattle on the same farm and in close proximity did not go down! HOWEVER MAFF have culled both the flock and the cattle

Sadly, today, I heard that a farmer I spoke to recently in Reagill (The one with the sad eyes who said "It`s only a matter of time." after I had complimented him on his fine heard of Fresian cattle) has gone down. His farm was mentioned in an earlier posting of mine.
That was the evening when a Maff cull lorry left a farm at Reagill Grange, 200 metres from the above farm, passed the clean farm/s along with many other cull lorries and had a cosy 15 minutes in a layby nr the M6/Shap Junction ADJACENT TO CLEAN SHEEP! He then travelled North, stopping for cigarettes at Southwaite Services M6, South of Carlisle! He was carrying infected cattle over the age of 5 years! The lorries were only de-toxed to wheel height!

So, who is actually bad at de-toxing? I think we all know!

I feel greatly saddened by this event! Can we all maintain our cool amongst this mayhem? Have to!
