welcoming a recent EU decision to ban the import of meat for
consumption from countries outside the European Union, the NFU is
stricter measures to tackle an estimated one million tonnes of
imported meat every year.
The actual total import
of all meat to the UK is in the range of 1M to 1.5M
tonnes per annum. So the
NFU are effectively claiming that almost all
imported meat is

Pat's Comment: The NFU really have to
become a lot more careful with their
wild allegations. Some of us have
started to check.
